Combined Top 10: SAND HOLLOW & THE ULO

As we've done with other local races, here are our TOP 10 REASONS why you should take the plunge and race on May 19th... either the classic Sand Hollow or the inaugural ULO!

10) Sand Hollow has a long-running tradition in the state, and its namesake reservoir is crystal clear this time of year.

9) No one's ever done the ULO... this is your chance to be in the first "graduating class."

8) Sand Hollow is race #4 of the inaugural Utah Triathlon Championship Series (UTCS) Especially if you live in the southern half of the state, this is a great way to get another race in towards season points & swag with limited travel.

7) The ULO is unique in that it's an Olympic distance only event... the only such event in the state. No getting mixed up with other distances on the course.

6) Did you just do SG 70.3 and/or have the itch to race at the same venue? Two weeks post-SG 70.3 is perfect to be fully recovered while capitalizing on all the fitness you built up training throughout the offseason. Go back to the well!

5)  The ULO is the first "Challenger" race on the calendar... races vying to earn a spot in the UTCS for next season. As described here, up to 2 Challenger races can steal a spot in the UTCS the following season if they get enough support from the tri community.

4) If you live up north you may not know this, but BBSC puts on terrific events not only in Utah, but also Colorado & Nevada. If you haven't yet, come give them a try.

3) The geography of the ULO is pretty cool - come out and explore West Mountain! Some say there's gold in them thar hills.

2) Enjoy some nice St. George weather, then bask on the red rock like a lizard post race.

1) Collect the whole set!! Our understanding is you have this season and next to do so. Very creative stuff from RaceTri!  (picture below)

So hope to see you there, and bring a friend or three.  Not racing?? Volunteer! The more the merrier, BBSC & RaceTri would surely love your support.
